I really wasn't sure what to think when I saw that we would be using blogging to respond to our reading. To be honest, I didn't like that we were going to do it. After setting up my blog, though, (which I think will be the hardest, most time consuming piece) I can readily see some rich learning experiences and ways that this Web 2.0 technology can be an exciting addition to the classroom. Students can learn and colaborate in a way that is fun for them while being rich in shared content.
I am excited to use blogging to respond to our books. I am nervous about setting up my blog, but happy to be learning about this new technology. I can see how many students will like blogging rather than pencil and paper journeling.
I had extensive experience in K-12 school libraries and educational technology before coming to Wright State University to direct the School Library Media program. I love school libraries and believe they have the potential to make real difference in the lives of students.
